Visit to Coalville 2010
Our main visit was to Windsor Castle, one of the Queens principal residences. It was built by William the Conqueror and is the longest continuously occupied palace in Europe.
Closer to home, we spent a day at Foxton locks - a flight of 10 interconnected locks built 200 years ago and still in use today.
A morning at Strutts Mill at Belper, Derbyshire was very interesting - with our visitors trying their hand on some of the machines.
We had an excellent lunch at Willesley Castle, built by one of the mill owners to impress.
Our Group at Wllesley after lunch. (Right)
Our ‘farewell’ dinner was again at the Hermitage Park Hotel in Coalville.
We look forward to meeting up again in Romans in 2011.
